Embark on a journey of self-reflection, where the shifting colors of light allude to the layers and nuances of our identity. As you interact with the light, each shift in color invites you to explore the evolving nature of your inner self.

Pro Tip

Step under the light and the color will change in response to your shadow’s interaction with the environment.

Inside the Installation

Materials: Steel, plastic, electronics, software

  1. Over 1,440 individual strips of metal were hand cut, folded, hole punched, and woven together to create the edges of the petals.

  2. No welding or heat processes could be used to assemble the fixtures to avoid melting the plastic parts of the petals.

  3. The sculptures display a 16-color spectrum.

  4. The floral shape of the sculptures is inspired by the iconic lotus flower lamps popular in the mid 2oth century.

  5. The delicate floral forms combined with metallic materials create an interesting bridge between natural and technological aesthetics.
